British Airways BA209 to Miami is returning to London Heathrow.

British Airways is struggling with its A380’s fleet, and it looks this is another exemple, with a technical issue (engine 3 shut down).

The Airbus A380 departed late at 16:04 GMT for a scheduled departure of 14:30 GMT.

More than 3 hours later, while reaching the Greenland coast at 37,000 ft, the aircraft (registration G-XLEF) turned around.

British Airways is planning a new takeoff at 23:30 GMT.

As the reason of this return is still unknown, the airline s’ fleet of 12 Airbus A380s has been experiencing a series of technical incidents in recent weeks.

UPDATE 22:07 GMT
BA209 is expected to land RWY27L in 25 minutes.

UPDATE 22:38 GMT
Flight BA209 landed on Runway 27L more than 6 hours after departure.

UPDATE 22:44 GMT
The A380 returned to stand at Terminal 5.

UPDATE 22:45 GMT
The flight is cancelled.
