Two Super Jumbo aircraft left storage from Spain to resume commercial flights with their respective airlines.
Lufthansa and Etihad Airbus A380 aircraft left storage and maintenance from Teruel Airport in Spain to resume flight operations Friday, September 13 2024.
The Etihad 9-year-old A380 (registration A6-APE) was the first to leave storage. The aircraft flew to Abu Dhabi where it landed 6 hours later.
The Lufthansa 14-year-old A380 (registration D-AIMA) was the second to leave Teruel Airport. The aircraft left to Frankfurt where it landed 2 hours later.
Two days later, the plane flew to Manila for heavy maintenance or retrofit before reentering Lufthansa’s fleet.
