Air Canada flight to Brisbane, Australia was forced to return to Vancouver, Canada 4 hours after departure.
Friday, September 13 2024, Air Canada flight #AC35 departed Vancouver YVR Airport at 11:30pm PDT.
The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner departed Gate D54 and took off from runway 08R for a scheduled flight of 14 hours to Australia.
The 7-year-old aircraft (registration C-FRSI) climbed to 35,000 ft to fly 11,854 km between Vancouver (YVR) and Brisbane (BNE).
But about 2 hours into the flight, while over The PaCific, the crew decided to turn around due to a medical situation on board.
The flight #AC35 returned to Vancouver and landed on the same runway, 4 hours and 2 minutes after the departure.
After a crew change and refueling, the same aircraft departed Vancouver 6 hours later, the next day at 09:57 PDT.
After a flight of 13 hours and 50 minutes, it landed in Brisbane more than 10 hours behind schedule.
