TUI flight from Birmingham to Alicante was forced to divert to Limoges as one of the pilots fell ill.
TUI flight #BY7604 departed Birmingham, UK Saturday, June 8 2024 for a 2-hour flight to Alicante, Spain.
The flight was operated by a Boeing 737-800 (registration EI-FFD) and the crew members were Fly4 Airways on a wet lease to TUI.
The plane took off at 06:20 BST from BHX Airport and climbed to 37,000 ft. But less than one hour into the flight, the crew had to deal with a medical situation on board as the co-pilot fell ill. According to a passenger on board who spoke to AIRLIVE, the cabin crew seemed quite concerned about him.

The flight then started to descend to Limoges, France and landed on runway 21 at 08:30 local time. The pilot was evacuated by ambulance to the local hospital.
Staff at Limoges Airport had to manage the 190 passengers for 8 hours until a new pilot to be flown out.
The flight resumed in the afternoon, it departed shortly before 17:00 and landed on runway 10 at 18:15 in Alicante, about 9 hours late.
