A Delta Boeing 737 and an Eva Air Boeing 777 were damaged at SFO.
In an incident on Monday night at San Francisco International Airport (SFO), a Delta Boeing 737 and an Eva Air Boeing 777 were damaged, with Eva Airways’ ground handling agency being blamed for the mishap.
The collision occurred during the pushback of the Eva Air flight as it prepared for its return to Taiwan. In the process, the aircraft was pushed back into a parked Delta aircraft, resulting in the right wing of the Eva Air aircraft colliding with the tail fin of the Delta jet.
EVA Air confirmed that the aircraft underwent necessary maintenance, was promptly returned to service, and departed from SFO early on Tuesday morning. The extent of damage sustained by the Delta 737 remains unclear at this time.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident. Investigations are underway to determine the full scope of the damage and the circumstances leading to the collision.
