An Eva Air Boeing 777 was damaged in a ground incident at Bangkok International Airport, after two baggage trailers detached and struck one of its engines nacelle.
The Boeing 777-300ER with registration B-16722 was scheduled to operate flight BR202 from Bangkok to Taoyuan. However, shortly before boarding, two baggage trailers that were being towed near the aircraft disconnected from the tow tractor and collided with the engine cowling of the EVA Air B777, causing dents, and possibly other damage.
Following the incident, the aircraft was deemed no longer airworthy until repairs and an inspection had been launched into the occurrence.
While the actual cause of the accident is still under investigation, footage shared on the internet shows the baggage train rolling over an uneven section of tarmac before the two rear trailers separated from it.
