The EU Commission has approved Lufthansa’s plans to acquire Luftfahrtgesellschaft Walter (LGW), a subsidiary of former German airline Air Berlin.
Lufthansa is bidding for a major part of Air Berlin, now at least part of it has been approved by the European Union’s regulators, but it remains subject to conditions.
LGW currently operates a fleet of 20 Bombardier Dash-8 Q400, 17 of them flying for Lufthansa subsidiary Eurowings. They were in service for Air Berlin until the German airline ended all flight operations on October 27th.
