A French-supplied Mirage 2000 fighter jet provided to Ukraine crashed on Tuesday.
One of Ukraine’s Mirage 2000 fighter jets crashed on the evening of July 22 due to a reported “aviation equipment failure,” according to the Air Force.
The pilot was carrying out a flight mission when the malfunction occurred and promptly reported it to the flight manager before safely ejecting from the aircraft. The Air Force confirmed that the pilot is in stable condition.
No casualties were reported. Officials praised the pilot for acting “competently” and adhering to emergency protocols.
A special commission has been formed to investigate the cause of the crash.
