A Russian Ilyushin Il-96-300 is about to land at New York JFK.

A Russian Ilyushin Il-96-300 departed Vnukovo International Airport today Wednesday, June 26.

Due to European airspace closure for Russian flights, the aircraft had to fly right to North to avoid Finland then to cross the Atlantic Ocean.

The plane, also known with callsign RSD738, took off at 9 a.m. Moscow time, and is estimated to arrive at around 2.00 pm EDT.

The flight is expected to land at New York JFK Airport, possibly to pick up government-related personnel such as staff members of the Russian embassy or Russian United Nation diplomats.

The Ilyushin Il-96 is a Russian four-engined jet long-haul wide-body airliner designed by Ilyushin in the former Soviet Union and manufactured by the Voronezh Aircraft Production Association in Russia. It is powered by four high-bypass Aviadvigatel PS-90 two-shaft turbofan engines.
