An Emirates A380 made an emergency landing in New York on 3 engines.
On 28 June 2025, an Emirates Airbus A380 operating flight EK203 from Dubai International Airport to New York JFK, was under the control of Boston Center when air traffic control inquired whether the aircraft was still operating on three engines.
The pilot confirmed the situation, stating that the crew had shut down engine number 1 (Rolls-Royce Trent 972 engine).
The A380 aircraft (registration A6-EUW), with 450 people onboard, landed safely on runway 22L at JFK but was stuck in New York until the ferry flight back to Dubai on July 5.
