A Ryanair flight from London Stansted to Kalamata suffered an incident after landing in Greece yesterday.
The right winglet of a Ryanair aircraft’s wing was destroyed after it hit a jet blast deflector on Wednesday 18 June 2025 in Greece.
The Boeing 737 MAX aircraft (registration EI-HMZ) had landed at Kalamata International Airport from London Stansted when the incident happened at the end of taxiway, while entering the parking.

After landing safely on runway 17R, the flight FR6080 taxied to the parking when the winglet of the right wing collided with a red-and-white Jet Blast Deflector during turn.
There was an announcement that everyone had to wait on the plane, then emergency services rushed to the scene. Passengers later disembarked normally.

A Jet Blast Deflector is made to protect personnel, equipment, and infrastructure from the high-speed exhaust (jet blast) of aircraft engines during taxiing, takeoff, or engine testing.
