A United Boeing 767 aircraft is diverting to London Heathrow after the crew declared an emergency.

Flight UA135, operated by a Boeing 767-300ER (registration N675UA), departed Zurich at 10:16 CEST and initially climbed to a cruising altitude of 36,000 feet while traveling over French airspace. Approximately 50 minutes into the journey, the flight crew issued an emergency squawk code (7700), signaling a general emergency situation.

Following the declaration, the aircraft altered its course and began descending toward London. The flight is currently on approach to Heathrow and is expected to land at approximately 10:46 local time.

The nature of the emergency has not yet been disclosed, and there has been no immediate confirmation from United Airlines regarding the cause or the number of passengers and crew on board.

Emergency services at Heathrow are typically placed on standby when an incoming aircraft reports an emergency, though such diversions are often carried out as a precaution.

Further updates are expected as more information becomes available.
