BERLIN – A routine flight from Romania turned into a dramatic scene on the tarmac of Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) today after a Ryanair Boeing 737-800 was met by a massive emergency response following an unscheduled priority landing.
The Incident
Ryanair flight FR315, which departed Bucharest at 17:31 EEST, was nearing the end of its two-hour journey when the crew reportedly contacted ATC about an issue on board. The aircraft touched down on runway 06R at 18:41 CEST, where it was immediately intercepted by a dozen emergency vehicles, including airport fire brigades and medical units.
Witnesses at the airport described a tense scene as the Boeing 737 remained stationary on the active runway for approximately 20 minutes. During this time, first responders surrounded the hull of the plane while flight operations on the southern runway were briefly disrupted.
