A 26-year-old Boeing 757 turned around over Atlantic and returned to Dublin after pilots declared an emergency.
United Airlines flight UA711 departed Dublin Airport this morning at 08:40 IST from runway 28R to Washington Dulles International Airport.
The Boeing 757 (registration N17133) climbed to 36,000 feet and flew for almost 2 hours towards Iceland before the crew decided to turn around due to a technical issue with one of the engines.
As the aircraft was back on approach to Dublin, pilots declared an emergency and requested priority landing before touch down on runway 28L then taxied to stand.
The airline confirmed the flight has been canceled.
