A United Boeing 777 aircraft from San Francisco to Auckland has declared an emergency over Pacific ocean.
The United flight UA917 departed San Francisco SFO Airport runway 28L on Tuesday, June 17 2025 at 11:40 pm to Auckland, New Zealand.
The flight is operated by a Boeing 777-200ER (registration N78005) which is 26 years old. The aircraft turned around over Pacific about two hours into the flight due to a medical situation aboard.
Pilots declared an emergency (squawk 7700) while on approach to SFO to require a priority landing.
