An easyJet flight declared an emergency on its way from Paphos to Bristol.
The flight U22902 departed Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport on island of Cyprus about one hour late behind schedule to bristol, UK.
The Airbus A320 aircraft (registration G-EZGX) was cruising at 36,000 feet when it suddenly turned around West of Turkey and started descent.
As a smoke alarm went off in the plane, the crew decided to divert to Izmir where it landed on runway 34R, 1 hour and 20 minutes after departure.
The airline is explaining the diversion is due to a technical issue on the aircraft.
