Aerolíneas Argentinas flight AR1648 returned to Buenos Aires for an emergency landing after an engine loses power.
An Aerolíneas Argentinas aircraft suffered a malfunction while operating flight AR1648 and had to make an emergency landing in Ezeiza Ministro Pistarini International Airport (EZE), Argentina .
The incident involved a Boeing 737-800 (registration LV-FRK) that had departed from Buenos Aires Aeroparque Jorge Newbery (AEP) bound for Neuquén.
The incident occurred on 05 March 2025 afternoon and mobilized the Ezeiza airport authorities to attend the emergency situation that also led to minor fire on the airport field.
As per sources, the captain detected malfunction with one of the engines and immediate loss of power.

He followed the safety protocol and diverted to Ezeiza for a safe landing on Runway 11, also leading to a Runway closure.
