A Delta flight from Los Angeles International Airport headed to Sydney on Saturday was forced to make an emergency landing after smoke was detected on board.
The Airbus A350-900 aircraft (registration N514DN) took off just after 9 p.m. and returned to LAX 30 minutes later.
Upon returning to the gate, no smoke was in the cockpit, but according to a Live ATC, pilots still requested medical attention for passengers who may have been affected by smoke.
All 162 passengers were then rebooked on a different flight.
In a statement, Delta apologized to their customers for the delay in travel but said, “Nothing is more important than the safety of our customers and people.”
