The nose gear of a plane collapsed during a hard landing at Belfast City Airport.
During strong gusts of wind a flight arriving from Edinburgh (position flight) suffered a hard landing on runway 04.
Emergency services responded to the incident at Belfast City Airport as the nose gear of Aer Lingus Regional flight operated by Emerald Airlines UK collapsed during the hard landing amid strong gusty winds.
The flight EAG7P had just arrived from Edinburgh, operated by an ATR 72-600 (registration G-CMMK).
Belfast City Airport’s said to the BBC that the runway will be closed for the rest of Sunday after a plane suffered an emergency incident during a landing.
Two flights – from London City and Leeds Bradford – due to land at the airport have since arrived at Belfast International Airport after being diverted.
The airport said the incident happened at about 16:00 GMT and that no passengers were on board but there were four crew.
