Pilots declared an emergency (squawk 7700) 30 minutes after departure while cruising at 38,000 ft altitude.
The flight is operated by an Airbus A320neo (registration G-NEOW) which is 5 years old.
Earlier in the day, a British Airways (flight #BA0631) also departed 2 hours late from Athens.
