easyJet flight from London Gatwick to Malta declared an emergency and diverted to Lyon.

Flight #U28761 departed London Gatwick Airport this Monday, June 17 2024 about one hour late at 07:43 BST due to missed slot. The air traffic control had to place the flight in a queue before it departed.

More than one hour into the flight, while flight at 37,000 ft, the crew declared an emergency and requested an immediate diversion.

The Airbus A319 (registration G-EZFV) then landed at Lyon Saint-Exupéry Airport few minutes later due to a passenger requiring urgent assistance.

Passengers are stuck in Lyon, awaiting for a new crew

The airline announced the flight needs a new crew to resume its journey to Malta. A new crew is planned to come from London Gatwick Airport to operate the next leg of the flight.
