An Emirates Airlines Boeing 777 caught fire at St Petersburg Airport (LED) in Russia.
The Boeing 777-300ER was preparing for the return flight EK176 to Dubai (DXB) when the APU caught fire.
The aircraft (reg. A6-EBR) was delayed for 5 hours.
It departed St. Petersburg at 4:45 in the morning instead of 23:15 the day before.
An auxiliary power unit is a device on a vehicle that provides energy for functions other than propulsion.

The aircraft is 17 years old.
The airline said :
“The flight was brought back to the stand as smoke was reported during the pushback for departure.
In response, the airline took precautionary measures and ensured the disembarkation of all passengers and crew members while local authorities and fire services thoroughly inspected the aircraft.
Once the investigations were concluded, the airline confirmed that the flight resumed its journey.
After completing the necessary inspections, passengers were allowed to re-board, and the aircraft departed with a delay.”
