On 18th March, an IndiGo A320neo was damaged by hail while on approach to Hyderabad Airport in India.
The Airbus A320neo with registration VT-ITA was operating flight 6E-6594 from Ahmedabad to Hyderabad. However, while on approach to Hyderabad, the A320 encountered heavy downpours with hail causing damage to the nose and windshields.
Flight 6E-6594 continued and landed safely moments later with no injuries reported.
Following the damage, the aircraft was grounded for further check and maintenance. The A320neo returned to service after remaining on the ground for about 16 hours.
