A Gulfstream G-150 jet ran off the runway and stopped in the wetlands at Ridgeland-Claude Dean Airport on Wednesday.
The 11 seater jet suffered the runway excursion after it suffered a brake malfunction. The jet was lifted by a large crane and relocated away from the runway.
There were five people on board, including two crew members and three passengers. No one was injured in the incident, airport manager Danny Lucas said in a statement.
“There were two pilots and three passengers aboard, and no one was injured. We have all the appropriate authorities on the scene investigating, and after talking with the FAA, we reopened the airport around 1 p.m. Wednesday,” Lucas said.
The three passengers didn’t seek medical attention at the airport. The FAA is leading the investigation for the National Transportation Safety Board.
