Virgin Airlines Gladstone flight to Brisbane forced to make an emergency landing in Gladstone on Monday night landed with a single engine.
The pilot of flight VA1720 noticed an oil pressure problem on the port engine and made the decision to shut down one engine and fly back to Gladstone airport.
Virgin Australia’s public affairs specialist Libby Armstrong said the incident was standard operating procedure and nothing to be concerned about.
“The ATR with 30 passengers on board landed safely at 21.15 local time and was met by emergency services as a standard precautionary measure,” she said.
