An Airbus A380 to Manchester made a U-turn shortly after takeoff from Dubai.
Emirates flight EK19 departed Dubai Airport yesterday at 15:10 GST for a 7-hour journey to Manchester.
The Airbus A380-800 (registered A6-EUQ) took off from runway 30R at DXB airport then climbed to 36,000 feet over the Persian Gulf before pilots decided to turn around back to Dubai.
The airline said it had to return to Dubai due to operational reasons. According to a passenger on board, the A380 returned due to a medical emergency on board.
The same aircraft resumed the flight few hours later and arrived in Manchester at 11:25 PM, delayed 5 hours.
