A KLM Airbus A330-300 is holding and burning fuel before returning to Amsterdam.
KLM flight #KL661 departed Amsterdam at 09:49 CET today for a 10h and 55 minutes flight to Houston IAH Airport.
The Airbus A330-300 (registration PH-AKA) climbed to 34,000 ft but turned around over Ireland one hour into the flight due to an engine issue.
The aircraft descended to 20,000 ft then 14,000 ft before starting hold near Amsterdam to start burning fuel.
Once weight reduced, the flight is expected to land back at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.
