American Airlines flight AA168 departed Terminal 3, gate 148 of Tokyo Haneda today on time at 00:30 JST for a 12-hour flight to New York JFK.
The Boeing 787-9 (registered N825AA) cruised at 39,000 feet over Pacific Ocean but changed flight path as the crew decided to divert to Los Angeles.
The airline is confirming the diversion to LAX Airport.
