A Boeing 777 from Athens to Toronto is making an unscheduled stop in Amsterdam.

Air Canada flight AC897 departed Athens, Greece one hour late at 14:15 EEST to Toronto, Canada.

The Boeing 777-300ER (registration C-FIVS) was cruising at 34,000 feet over Germany when the crew decided to turn left.

The reason is very likely a medical emergency. The airline is planning a stop of only 50 minutes.
