The plane registration G-XLEA departed London Heathrow at 10am BST today for a scheduled flight time of 9 hours and 35 minutes.
Heavy thunderstorms reduced visibility to only 1/2 mile at 2:30 pm local time. The FAA issued a ground stop for departures to Miami International.
