A British Airways flight from London to Washington departed late after the aircraft returned to the gate.
Saturday, May 31 2025 afternoon, the Airbus A380 (registration G-XLEK) was pushed back from gate C57 at Terminal 5 of Heathrow Airport.
The flight was scheduled to take off at 17:05 BST. The aircraft taxied to runway 27L but pilots decided to return to the gate for a reasons till unknown.
The A380 then circled the airport for a total of 7.5 km during 40 minutes to return to the origin gate.
After 1 hour and 30 minutes, the Superjumbo was pushed back a second time. It took off on runway 27L, about 2 hours late to IAD Airport.
