Friday, February 7 2025, United Airlines flight UA164 departed Newark terminal C for 12h 55m flight to Dubai.
After takeoff, the Boeing 777-200ER (registration N79011) stopped the climb at 19,000 ft when the crew noticed a technical issue with the aircraft.
The plane entered a holding pattern for 45 minutes and descended to FL88 before starting approach to EWR Airport.
The Boeing 777 returned to Newark 1 hour and 42 minutes after departure then was taken out of service to address a technical issue.
The airline planned a new departure at 01:00 am but the flight was finally canceled due to “forecasted or severe weather conditions”.
