SEATTLE — Alaska Airlines has officially written a new chapter in its international expansion history. Flight AS100, the carrier’s highly anticipated inaugural nonstop service from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) to London Heathrow Airport (LHR), successfully took to the skies last night.

The flight departed Seattle approximately one hour ago and is currently cruising over Canada. It is on track for an on-time arrival at Heathrow’s Terminal 3, expected at 15:05 local time.

A New Era of Transatlantic Travel

The multi-year international growth strategy of Alaska Airlines achieves a massive milestone with this new year-round daily service, marking its second major European route corridor. The launch establishes a critical direct link between the robust business and technology hubs of the Pacific Northwest and the United Kingdom, completely bypassing the need for domestic hub layovers or reliance on secondary connections.

The introduction of the Seattle-to-London link comes amidst a aggressive push by Alaska Airlines into transatlantic markets. Following the recent rollout of daily service to Rome Fiumicino, the airline will also introduce seasonal service to Reykjavík, Iceland, later this month.

By utilizing London Heathrow’s Terminal 3, Alaska Airlines passengers will gain immediate access to seamless, single-ticket onward connections across Europe, Africa, and Asia via its robust ecosystem of oneworld alliance partner airlines.
