In shift to A220, AirAsia is close to buy at least 100 Airbus jets , sources say.

According to Reuters, AirAsia is in advanced talks to order at least 100 Airbus aircraft at next week’s Paris Airshow, with industry sources indicating the deal will likely introduce the planemaker’s smallest jet, the A220, to its fleet.

Airbus A220 Overview

The Airbus A220 is a modern, fuel-efficient narrow-body jet designed for short- to medium-haul routes. Originally developed by Bombardier as the C Series, it became the A220 after Airbus acquired a majority stake in the program in 2018. The aircraft is praised for its passenger comfort, fuel efficiency, and range flexibility, making it popular among airlines seeking to optimize regional and lower-demand routes.
