An Airbus A380 was about to takeoff when a situation forced the flight to return to the gate.
Emirates flight EK40 to Dubai returned to the gate at Birmingham Airport this Sunday, March 23 2025.
The Airbus A380-800 (registration A6-EVA) taxied to runway 15 at 14:54 GMT for a scheduled departure time of 13:40.
However during taxi, a passenger suffered a panic attack. The crew decided to return to the gate to disembark the passenger.
A bit more than 50 minutes later, the aircraft was pushed back a second time and finally took off at 15:08 local time for a 7 hours and 5 minutes flight to Dubai.
