An Airbus A350-1000 was struck by multiple lightings while parked on stand at São Paulo.
British Airways flight #BA246 was delayed after suffering multiple lightning strikes at Sao Paulo Guarulhos International Airport.
The Airbus A350K (registration G-XWBE) was on stand, preparing for the return flight to London Heathrow Airport when the tail was stuck multiple times in only few seconds.
The aircraft is 5 years old and arrived in São Paulo, Brazil on flight #BA247 the day before.
After the incident, engineers at look at the entry point at the tail and also looking for any exit point which could have damaged the fuselage.
After making sure all systems were operational, the aircraft was allowed to takeoff at 22:57 BRT, one hour late.
The flight is currently over Atlantic, expected to land at 12:27 GMT in London.
