First Airbus aircraft just arrived in Iceland with a very low pass and gear up

Icelandair took delivery of its first Airbus A321LR from Hamburg.

Icelandair has taken delivery of it’s first ever Airbus aircraft losing its status as an all-Boeing airline.

The A321LR (registration TF-IAA) departed the Airbus facility in Hamburg, Germany Tuesday, December 3 2024 in middle of morning for a 3-hour flight to Reykjavík.

The aircraft first performed two very low passes over Reykjavik Domestic Airport before heading to Keflavik International Airport.

From December 10, 2024, the carrier will deploy its first longer-range A321LR on flights from Iceland to Copenhagen and Stockholm.

The airline will add A321LR flights to London-Heathrow on December 23, 2024 and Oslo on December 24, 2024. 

According to ishrionaviation, the airline will deploy its A321LR to Toronto and Seattle in May 2025, then Rome, Paris, Berlin, Barcelona and Zurich later.
