An Etihad aircraft flew with only one engine running and landed at London Heathrow on its way to Abu Dhabi.

On 23 Sep 2024, the Etihad Airways flight #EY10 from Chicago to Abu Dhabi was cancelled following technical issue with the aircraft.

The flight was scheduled to be operated by the Airbus A350K (registration A6-XWF) for a 13-hour journey to AUH.

Friday, September 27 2024, the aircraft did a test on the taxi way of Chicago O’Hare International Airport.

The plane left Chicago on ferry flight the next day early in the night to Abu Dhabi. But six hours into the flight, the crew decided to divert to London Heathrow.

The aircraft landed on runway 27L at 18:30 with only one engine running.

About one hour later, after refueling, the ferry flight departed LHR airport and landed 6 hours and 10 minutes later in the early hours of Sunday, September 29 2024 at AUH airport.
