A Emirates flight to Dubai was delayed when smoke appeared from the rear of a Boeing 777-300.

Emirates Flight EK547 to Dubai, operated by a Boeing 777-300 (registration A6-ECZ) was delayed due to smoke while being refueled at Chennai International Airport (MAA), India Tuesday, September 24 2024.

The emergency responders arrived at the location and handled the situation successfully.

Flight EK547 from Chennai is delayed due to operational reasons. New estimated departure is 00:00 on Sept 25th.”

Further reports suggest that the heavy smoke was from the exhaust of the auxiliary power unit (APU) of the 14-year-old aircraft.

The flight #EK547 finally departed at 00:12 IST form Chennai Airport.
