An United Airlines Boeing 767 to Zurich was forced to return to Chicago following a technical issue.
The United #UA3 departed Chicago O’Hare International Airport at 15:42 CDT for a 9-hour flight to Zurich, Switzerland.
The flight operated by a Boeing 767-300ER (registration N674UA) climbed to 31,000 ft but turned around 30 minutes into the flight.
Pilots decided to return to Chicago O’Hare International Airport due to a left engine problem.
The 24-year-old aircraft landed back at ORD on runway 28R then taxied to the gate.
A spare aircraft (registration N658UA, 31 years old, resumed the flight with a delay of 7 hours.
