A Jet2 flight declared an emergency and diverted to Cologne following a serious medical incident on board.
Monday, September 16 2024, the Jet2 flight #LS3214 departed Burgas, Bulgaria to Liverpool, UK.
After 2hours into the flight, the crew declared an emergency due to a medical situation on board.
The pilots requested an immediate diversion has a male passenger was suffering a cardiac arrest.
The Boeing 737-800 (registration G-JZHR) was vectored to Cologne, Germany where it landed after a rapid descent.
Despite efforts from the crew and two medically trained passengers, the passenger didn’t make it.
The aircraft was parked in a remote area of the airport and medical team rushed to the plane.
