A United Airlines flight from Miami to Newark was forced to divert to Orlando on Tuesday after a passenger became violent and bit one of the flight attendants.

United Airlines flight 762, operated by a Boeing 737-924ER aircraft, with registration N68823 was diverted to Orlando International Airport (MCO) due to an “aggressive and disruptive” passenger, according to a statement from the airline.

Reports and passenger videos obtained by TMZ allege the female passenger became belligerent, screaming at others and spitting on a fellow passenger.

A video shared by TMZ shows the fight between the woman and flight attendant in the aisle of the plane.

When flight attendants attempted to restrain her, the situation escalated. The woman reportedly bit a flight attendant on the shoulder, causing injury and damaging the uniform.

“Our flight attendants worked to de-escalate the situation and protect other customers,” a United Airlines spokesperson said. “After landing in Orlando, law enforcement met the flight, and the passenger was removed.”

The unruly passenger was taken to a local hospital for evaluation, according to Orlando Police Department officials. No arrests have been reported at this time.

The incident caused a delay of approximately three and a half hours for the flight.
