An easyJet flight to Funchal was forced to return to Porto, arriving 5 hours later.
Passenger of easyJet flight #U27751 had a bad day this Friday, April 5 2024.
As the flight was already one hour late, the Airbus A320 departed Porto at 11:18 WEST instead of 10:00 for a 2-hour flight to Funchal.
Once it reached the island, the Airbus A320 (registration OE-IVT) had to enter holding pattern at 7,000 ft.
But as often, it was a real challenge to land at Madeira due to strong winds. Pilots finally took the decision to even not attempt a landing and to return to Porto.
The flight landed back at 15:08 WEST, so 5 hours after it was scheduled to takeoff.
Madeira Cristiano Ronaldo Airport is a real challenge for pilots and often offers very impressive footages for spotters.
