British Airways flight from New York diverts to St John’s as pilot becomes ‘incapacitated’

The Boeing Boeing 777-200 (G-VIIP) departed JFK Airport at 21:53 EDT ans was cruising at FL400 over the Atlantic for more than 3 hours when the flight crew declared a medical emergency.

The Captain reported on ATC that one of the pilots had become ‘incapacitated and was unable to perform their duties’.

The flight turned around and requested to divert to St John’s.

Paramedics were required up arrival.
