An Arktika Airlines Yakovlev Yak-42 suffered a runway excursion after landing at Arkhangelsk Talagi Airport, Russia.
The Yakovlev Yak-42 with registration RA-42458 was operating flight SI9642 from the Amderma-2 military airfield on Yuzhny Island of the Novaya Zemlya archipelago to Arkhangelsk Talagi Airport.
However, the aircraft overran the runway on landing and got stuck in the snow-covered areas at Arkhangelsk Airport. According to reports, 54 passengers and 5 crew members were evacuated from the plane and there were no injuries.

The aircraft sustained damages. Arkhangelsk Airport’s single runway is 2500 m (8210 ft) long and reopened after refurbishment on the 1st of December, 2023.
The investigation of this aviation incident will be carried out by the Federal Air Transport Agency.
