On December 19, 2023, Skyline Express Boeing plane left Ukrainian airspace secretly.
The former Azur Air Ukraine Boeing 777-300 departed from Kyiv’s Boryspil by 9am, a first since the start of the war for a heavy aircraft.
There was no passengers or cargo on board.
The Boeing 777-300 (reg. UR-AZR) stayed low until it reached the border then climbed to 38,000ft.
The aircraft kept its transponder for about 30 minutes until it left Ukrainian airspace.
Since the closure of Ukraine’s airspace on February 24, 2022, Skyline Express aircrafts have been in a parking lot at Boryspil Airport, undergoing continuous technical support and maintenance.
This was a technical transfer from the Ukrainian airport to the French Tarbes-Lourdes-Pyrénées airport for heavy maintenance.
This marks the fourth successful relocation of an aircraft from Kyiv-Boryspil Airport since the beginning of the war.
