A flight to Dellas was forced to return to Los Angeles following an engine issue right after takeoff.

American Airlines flight AA2746 departed Los Angeles LAX Airport at 07:37 PDT to Dellas. The crew stopped the climb at 21,000 feet due to an engine issue according to source.

The Boeing 737-800 (registration N948NN) turned around only 30 minutes into the flight, back to LAX.

INCIDENT: American #AA2746 LAX-Dallas-Fort Worth (Boeing 737-800 N948NN) squawked 7700 General Emergency & just ret. to LAX with an engine failure (did not deploy thrust reversers on right engine).

The aircraft safely landed on runway 25L, with reversers not deployed on right engine, and taxied to stand 48A.
