A pregnant passenger went into labour while aboard the United Airlines Flight #1509, which was en route from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to Honolulu.
The pilot of a plane was forced to return back to the departure airport after a passenger went into labour mid-flight.
United Airlines Flight #1509, en route from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to Honolulu, was forced to return to its origin on Monday night due to a passenger going into labour.
The incident unfolded when a pregnant woman on board began experiencing labor pains, prompting the flight crew to make the decision to turn the plane around. The aircraft, which was bound for Honolulu, safely landed back at SFO, where first responders were waiting to assist.
United Airlines issued a statement regarding the incident. The statement read: “United Flight 1509 from San Francisco to Honolulu safely returned to SFO following a medical incident onboard. First responders met the airplane at the gate, and we’re making arrangements for the other passengers to complete their journeys as soon as possible.”
