A United Airlines flight headed to Taipei was diverted back to San Francisco International Airport (SFO) Thursday evening.
The flight 871 left SFO around 3:30 p.m., flew approximately 1h30 toward the Taiwan capital and flew 1h30 back towards SFO.
The United Airlines plane landed back at SFO around 07:00 pm PDT.
The Boeing 777-300ER landed back to SFO 3h20 after departure due to an unruly passenger.
United Airlines statement:
“United flight 871 returned to San Francisco due to a disruptive passenger. Law enforcement officials met the aircraft on arrival and removed the passenger. We expect to depart for Taipei later this evening. “
