An American Airlines flight was delayed and passengers evacuated because of a moth infestation onboard.
On May 20, 2023, passengers of an American Airlines Airbus A321 aircraft discovered moths onboard.
The plane was infested with them then the captain explained, the problem was both a “safety and comfort issue”.
After consultation with maintenance, he required all passengers to exit the aircraft so that the moths could be efficiently eliminated.

After passengers entered the spare aircraft, they had to wait as the new aircraft needed to be refueled and new tires.
